About us
Meat and eggs can be an ethical, humane, and sustainable (not to mention truly delicious) part of our diets.
Sustainable
We’re a pasture-based, sustainability-focused livestock farm in northeast Connecticut (also known as the “Quiet Corner” of Connecticut) raising pigs, goats, and chickens.
Regenerative
As first generation farmers, we bring fresh perspectives to running a modern regenerative farm. Situated on 41 acres of silvopasture, our farm raises small numbers of animals to prioritize animal welfare and flavor.
Breed
We choose specific heritage breeds which thrive in our New England climate of hot summers and cold winters, giving them the ability to live on pasture all year long and never be confined to barns.
Rotationally grazed
Rotationally grazing our animals improves the quality and fertility of our land, builds soil health, and fosters climate resilience.
Birth to slaughter
As a birth to slaughter operation, we maintain breeding stock of pigs and goats that produce all of our market animals. They breed according to their natural cycles, birth unassisted on pasture, and raise their young in familial groups.
Flavor
Raising heritage breeds, carefully managing their diet, and giving them room to express natural behaviors results in unmatched flavor, increased nutrient density, and exceptional fat quality, all of which have been lost in industrial farming.
Certifications
All of our animals are Animal Welfare Approved and our goats are Certified Grassfed by A Greener World. Raising animals to these ridiculously high standards makes us the local, ethical source for the best tasting meat and eggs you have ever had.
Learn about our animals
We acknowledge that the land we farm is unceded territory of the Nipmuc and Mohegan peoples. Their sovereignty and their long-standing presence on this land, which precedes the establishment of Connecticut state, and the United States of America. Concepts like regenerative agriculture, silvopasture, and permaculture are recent names for ancient indigenous practices, and that current movements fail to appropriately acknowledge the contributions of non-white people to a collective knowledge base. We try to farm in a way that honors this ancient wisdom.
